Every morning you open your eyes and face your crazy, busy, overwhelming life!
Perhaps it’s your job, coworkers, family situation, relationship issues, bad personal habits, or a difficult past.
All you do is hold onto the hope that maybe some day things will change!
But the more you wait, the worse things get.
You are on the difficult road to emotional and mental burn-out.
You need to start taking proactive measures before you are completely exhausted and overwhelmed.
Below are 7 warning signs that you are on the brink of total burnout.
1.) YOU ALWAYS FEEL EXHAUSTED
From the moment you wake up to the moment you go to bed, you are absolutely exhausted.
Your exhaustion isn’t just physical, it is also mental!
Getting out of bed in the morning seems emotionally and physically taxing.
You don’t want to go out with friends because even smiling and laughing seems like too much effort.
All you want to do is curl up on the couch and do something that requires NO EFFORT.
Sleep feels like the only way that you can escape your deep-rooted exhaustion.
2.) YOUR PERSONALITY IS GONE
You use to have a spring in your step and a smile on your face.
When you sit back and think about what you “used to be like”, you mourn the loss of someone who used to be fun!
Now, your life is too full of anxiety to even care about your “personality” anymore. Going out and “having fun” is the last thing on your priority list!
Burnout can take a toll on who YOU actually are. Take a good, hard look at what you need to do to find JOY again.
Take some much-needed “you-time”. Stop what you’re doing, go out and treat yourself to a spa treatment or a lunch with a close friend.
Invest in something that will bring a smile to your face and fill up your “personality cup” again!
3.) YOU RANDOMLY CRY FOR NO REASON
You are so overwhelmed with life right now that you sometimes break down and cry.
But when you have to put your finger on EXACTLY why you’re crying, you can’t.
All you know is that you are trapped in your life and the circumstances that you are surrounded with.
Girl, you are getting close to burn-out! The smallest things can make you burst into tears.
Sit back, breath deeply, and focus on something positive.
And go ahead and cry! Cry as hard as you need to! Sometimes, tears are a wonderful way of releasing built-up tension and anxiety.
4.) YOUR RELATIONSHIPS ARE GOING DOWNHILL – FAST
As you get closer to burnout, it is inevitable that your relationships with your family and friends will start to suffer.
You may find yourself being too exhausted to spend time with them anymore. And if you do see them, you may be irritable, argumentative, and negative.
You need to identify that these emotions are taking away your happiness and chasing away the people you care about.
Family and friends are there to help you – through thick and thin! Let them know what is going on and ask for help!
Mental and emotional exhaustion (burn-out) is a vicious cycle of negativity, depression, and lonliness.

5.) YOU NEVER SLEEP WELL ANYMORE
Your body is absolutely exhausted!
And yet, as soon as you lay down, a million thoughts start going through your mind.
You start thinking about all of the things that stress you in life. You start analyzing and worrying about the past and over-thinking the future.
It never stops because your mind won’t turn off!
To maintain a healthy lifestyle, you need 7-8 hours of sleep. Anything less should be a short-term necessity.
Sleep deprivation is very bad for your body – just another step towards mental exhaustion and burn-out.
Talk to your doctor about what you need to do. You need to get back on a healthy sleep schedule.
6.) YOUR HEALTH IS STARTING TO SUFFER
…headaches, stomach problems, acid reflex, chest pain, back and neck pain, constipation, etc.
You might even start grinding your teeth in your sleep or having breathing problems (anxiety-related issues).
Your body is warning you that it is TOO STRESSED! It wants you to know that it needs a lifestyle change to be healthy again!
The longer you stay on the road to burn-out, the worse your health is going to get.
Prolonged periods of stress can lead to heart disease, depression, obesity, gut issues, etc.
Your body and mind want to be healthy again!
7.) YOU THINK, “I JUST DON’T KNOW ANYMORE!”
…hopeless, lost, alone, stressed, anxious, scared, emotional, unhappy, etc.
You don’t know how you’re going to keep doing what you’re doing.
This is by far the most difficult place to be on your path to emotional burn-out.
You are so overwhelmed with all the negative happening in your life that you forget to look around and see the positive.
“Things are never going to change! This is it! This is the rest of my life?!”
There is always hope, no matter what! There is a God who loves you and there are always people who will understand you and help you.
If you feel this way, you need to seek professional help immediately. Go see a licensed therapist or medical professional.
You must get your life back on track and learn to shed the stress and manage the life that you are living.
